2 NEW Styles of clinics! They are filling fast!

1) Women & Horses Wellness Retreats!

A weekend workshop for women and men who want to explore the mind, body and spirit through energy, connection and healing with horses. NO horse experience needed! Rider Horsemanship’s horses are used for all LEVEL I workshops.

This workshop is part of the Tao of Horsemanship™, Inc.’s approach to Being and working with horses. It is an introduction, LEVEL I study, into Caroline’s very successful approach to connecting and being one with your horse.

The workshops encompass the following modalities: Caroline’s Tao of Horsemanship Round Penning; Approach to connection and communication with horses; Developing awareness of the chakras or energy centers, within yourself, in horses, and how to utilize your chakras to communicate better with horses; Creating clarity & confidence through identifying congruent and incongruent mind/body messages; Developing consensual and co-creative partnerships with horses and humans; Developing a deeper understanding of energy, connection while engaging in ground exercises with horses, master teachers of mindfulness and sensory awareness; Becoming more aware of your energy boundaries, how to strengthen them, and use them appropriately when communicating with horses and humans; Learning how to promote more health and well being for both horses and humans through mind-body awarenesses and healing techniques.

2) Riding as One Horsemanship clinics!

This 3 day clinic explores our Tao of Horsemanship™, Inc.’s approach to riding and being one with your horse.

A great clinic for those seeking more mind-body connection, communication, balanced and centered riding, partnership and control with their horse. The clinic focuses on the following: Creating and maintaining connection – mental and physical engagement at all times; Creating a softer, more fluid horse and rider; Developing pattern work that helps to develop a calmer more disciplined, willing and response horse; Mind-body awareness and embodiment exercises that help to strengthen your focus (intention), core and balance (independent seat); And the ultimate development of consensual partnership between horse and human.

This Month’s Topic of Interest:
“Chakras…what are they and how do they
relate to horses?”

“Chakras are the sacred centers within that carry us on our journey toward greater awareness and aliveness. As the architecture of the soul, they provide an important map for our wholeness and transformation, both personally and globally. As an ancient spiritual system, they show the path to enlightenment and integration.

The word chakra is Sanskrit for wheel or disk and signifies one of seven basic energy centers in the body that correspond to nerve ganglia branching out from the spinal column, as well as states of consciousness, developmental stages of life, archetypal elements, body functions, colors, sounds, and much, much more. Together they form a profound formula for wholeness and a template for transformation.” – Anodea Judith, Ph.D.

Here are two of Anodea’s videos on chakra’s. Both videos encapsulate the meaning and purpose of each 7 chakras beautifully. We used only the first 4 chakras in the first clip (The Illuminated Chakras by Anodea Judith ® Pt. 1) as part of our Level I presentation each morning before we headed out to work with the horses. Our continuing studies, Level II workshops, will include the remaining 3 chakras:

So, how do the chakras relate to our horses? Very much like our chakra systems do, especially in relationship to healing energies. The area that I want to delve into, and explain, does not relate to the healing powers of the chakra systems in horses, but more of the energy fields and vibrations associated with each that connects us to the horse as well as gives us bio feedback and communication opportunities.

This “level” of energy I am going to be talking about relates specifically to how I work with horses. The last newsletter I wrote, back in March, was about “Emotional Agility.” I mentioned in my article about how agile a “wild” horse’s emotions are and I use the term wild because once we domesticate a horse, and become its herd and mentor, we transfer and project so much of our own negative energy, beliefs and influences upon them. In the wild, they are untainted and pure and able to respond to any given situation, immediately and with clarity and control. Once danger is no longer present, they go back to grazing….and being able to go back to grazing means that they are able to “come down” from the extreme adrenaline rush they were on when in flight or fight mode. Having emotional agility is the ability to control one’s heightened sense of emotion in any given situation. It is equivalent to being a leader in war and having to make split second decisions that affect the over-all welfare of those involved. These decisions are based on facts pertaining to the situation, and must be handled with clarity and control of one’s emotions. If we spend too much time “thinking” and rationalizing, we could die. And, for the horse, this is about life or death. If they wait too long, caught in emotional stress over the situation, they could easily become exhausted or taken down by a mountain lion.

This level of energy I speak about it what I relate to when I refer to myself as a “Horse Whisperer.” Generally, horse whispering refers to being able to read a horse’s subtle body language, understand it, and then communicate back using the same language. Well, I have to ask you….what does that really mean? How does one “read, understand and then communicate” horse talk? For me, it refers to both body language and energy….energy fields and vibrations that I can “feel” when around horses. If you read about the chakra’s and watch the two video links I’ve included above, those are the energy fields I am referring too. I am not only speaking about emotional agility (the control and balancing of one’s emotions), but levels of consciousness that I tap into within myself and the horse, specifically the 6th and 7th chakras. Here is some information about both:

Chakra Six: Ajna
Light, Archetypal identity, oriented to self-reflection

This chakra is known as the brow chakra or third eye center. It is related to the act of seeing, both physically and intuitively. As such it opens our psychic faculties and our understanding of archetypal levels. When healthy it allows us to see clearly, in effect, letting us “see the big picture.”

Chakra Seven: Sahasrara
Thought, Universal identity, oriented to self-knowledge

This is the crown chakra that relates to consciousness as pure awareness. It is our connection to the greater world beyond, to a timeless, spaceless place of all-knowing. When developed, this chakra brings us knowledge, wisdom, understanding, spiritual connection, and bliss.

If you would like to learn more about chakras and how they help us to find balance, peace, strength, compassion, joy, confidence, connection with all things, especially our equine partners, then sign up for one of our Women and Horses Wellness Retreats!
