Thanks to all who braved out the cold and participated in, and audited, our March “Getting Started” Clinic!

Our participants, and auditors, learned so much in this clinic as it was filled with both ground and riding exercises designed to develop and maintain deeper connection and communication between you and your horse. Some were so inspired by the depth of the connection, ease, calm and partnership they either developed with their horses or witnessed, they are signing up for our May Horses and Wellness Workshop as they can’t wait to dive deeper into the power of intention and energy work!

Here is what one of the participants had to say:

“So thank you Caroline for sharing your awesome talents and passion for connection with horses.  This is exactly what I have been missing and have been searching for!” – Sheila & Cort

Many of the exercises (founding principles) in this clinic are featured in our Riding as One and Trail Riding clinics. So, for those of you who are still interested in attending a clinic like our “Getting Started” it’s not too late as we have several ground and riding clinics set up throughout the Spring and Summer! Please check our website for details.

Here’s a little more about the philosophy behind the Horses and Wellness workshop…

The work that is taught in this workshop follows my Round Penning Approach DVD as it is about creating oneness and deeper levels of consciousness – awareness, within us - first. The round pen itself becomes a vehicle as its shape supports the vital and powerful force of Chi – energy that supports balance and sustains all life force.

“Chi (also spelled Qi) translates roughly to "vital energy" in Chinese. It refers to the "life force" that flows through all plants, animals and human beings. "Chi" is that "bio-electricity" or "energy" in the body which makes us "alive."  It is also that life giving energy that permeates our universe.”

Choosing to work with horses can be a very empowering experience for people as horses often represent much of what we are either in search of, or are in need of. We often gravitate towards these amazing, sentient beings because of the many characteristics they naturally posses: truth and honesty (reflective work); heart-felt intention; the ability to be clear and present; spiritual balance, wellness and healing; mind/body integration; depths of emotional connection; sixth sense; advanced sensory awareness; honesty and acceptance; energy and healing (chakras); consensual partnership and leadership; chi; meditative, synchronized movement and so much more. When working with horses in this way, we are given an opportunity to not only listen to ourselves, but listen to the horse, thus allowing them to guide us to greater depths and understanding of inward truth, reflection, acceptance, love, balance and peace within and around us.

I specifically choose to begin this mindful and spiritual way of being and doing with horses in a round pen because of its circular frame and its ability to help ground and center both beings in a harmonious, synchronized way. The key to the round pen's circular shape is that is aids in fostering and nurturing oneness while motivating life force as it brings two beings together in deep connection and great balance through movement – so much of this is the power of intention and projection of energy (movement).

For the human, they begin to understand the power of how all things (they, the horse and their surroundings) relate and share space (mind and body). For the horse, they are positioned so that they human becomes their center of contact, offering the level of connection and communication they seek when interacting and developing partnership and leadership roles. This is where clarity, confidence, oneness, joy and personal power are discovered and embraced within and together.

This way of being and working with horses not only aids in one's personal journey, it opens the mind for all possibilities of oneness, consensual partnership and exemplary leadership - both passive and guiding. These are awarenessess and skill sets needed in all aspects of life, especially when we are contributing to the balance and welfare of society as a whole – whether that society is our family, children, friends, community, pets.

A few spots remaining!! Another being offered JULY 8-10.
