B. FOUNDATION
SCHOOLING FOR YOUR HORSE
Acquiring softness begins
with the "inside" of your horse – within his
heart and his mind. Through time, patience,
trust and love it will work itself through to
his body.
Our
foundation schooling is for any horse, – young,
green or those that have specific behavioral
challenges, such as; rearing, biting, kicking,
bucking, over-all sour attitude, lack of confidence,
lack of trust, willfulness, high play drive,
are shut down and non-responsive, to name a
few.
While each horse is treated as an individual,
our Tao of Horsemanship™
Approach is applied to each and every horse
we handle and work with: Tao
of Horsemanship DVD Series
We begin each horse at liberty so that acceptance,
trust and willing partnership are allowed to
happen easily and naturally for the horse (there
is no force, domination or punishment). Once
we are joined up and connected at liberty with
our horse, we move on to 9 specific online exercises.
These online exercises are the combination of
both our approach and technique and are to encourage
the following within your horse: confidence,
obedience, deeper partnership and acceptance
of leadership, softness, responsiveness, lightness,
respect, balance, suppleness and self carriage.
When your horse accepts our leadership, trusts
us and offers partnership online, we will move
on to our riding program. Our riding program
involves deepening connection, partnership and
harmony under saddle. We work to develop the
following within your horse: softening to the
bit, softening/rounding of the top line, balance,
suppleness, vertical and lateral flexion, collection,
leg yields and w/t/c/transitions with ease,
relaxation and rhythm.
Your horse will be evaluated often, with their
progression dependent upon the following: their
natural training aptitude, nature & temperament,
natural agility, past experiences (emotional
scars & trauma), and your personal desired horsemanship
goals.
PLEASE NOTE: Because it is natural for horses
to revert when not being consistently handled
in the manner in which they were accustomed,
we ask that you take a few private lessons with
one of our schooled horses as well as lessons
with your own horse before you take him home.
It is most important that you not only understand
the way in which we think and work with your
horse, but that you also know how to work with
your horse in the manner in which they were
taught. If not, we cannot be responsible for
your horse once they return home.

and costs, please contact our office: info@riderhorsemanship.com
C. ADVANCED
SCHOOLING
FOR YOUR HORSE
Our
advanced schooling program is designed for those
of you that want to refine your horsemanship
and your horse's performance. We work with the
horse's natural agility, all the while presenting
new ideas and exercises that build him emotionally,
such as; trust, confidence, willing partnership.
We also work on the physical aspect by developing
both online and riding exercises that build
self-carriage, more responsiveness, softness,
lightness, suppleness and respect.
PLEASE
NOTE: Because it is natural for horses to revert
when not being consistently handled in the manner
in which they were accustomed, we ask that you
take a few private lessons with one of our schooled
horses as well as lessons with your own horse
before you take him home. It is most important
that you not only understand the way in which
we think and work with your horse, but that
you also know how to work with your horse in
the manner in which they were taught. If not,
we cannot be responsible for your horse once
they return home.
